Our day camp serves K- Grade 4 and runs Monday through Friday, June 11-June 29; and July 30- August 3. An average camp day runs 8:45am-4:15pm.

Summer Clubhouse: Camp Job Descriptions
Positions Available: Head Counselors for campers ages 4.5-6; or ages 7-9
Salary Range: $20-$25/hour, depending on experience
- Applicants must be certified teachers with experience teaching in this age range and have current first aid/CPR certification.
- As a Head Counselor you are responsible for leading your camp group team and for being a role model and mentor to a group of 22 children. Head Counselors represent the camp and camp group to parents and to the community.
- Your responsibilities will include ensuring the children’s safety, managing their behavior, building relationships with them while making sure that each child is happy, included and engaged as a member of the group. Head Counselors constructively participate in all camp activities including sports and recreation, visual and performing arts, and swim.
- Head Counselors works with their camp group team to plan, organize and teach several activity periods during the week. Activities should enable children to discover new areas of interest, learn new skills, and build new friendships. Teach what you love!
Positions Available: Camp Counselors for campers ages 4.5-9
Salary Range: $12 – $15/hour, depending on experience
- Applicants must be current college students or college graduates and have experience either in childhood education, or as a camp counselor. Current first aid/CPR certification is a requirement.
- As a Camp Counselor you are responsible for supporting your camp group team and being a role model and mentor to a group of 22 children.
- Your responsibilities will include ensuring the children’s safety, managing their behavior, and building relationships with them while making sure that each child is happy, included, and engaged as a member of the group. Counselors constructively participate in all camper activities including sports and recreation, visual and performing arts, and swim.
- Camp Counselors assist with the planning, organization and instruction of several activity periods during the week. Such activities should enable children to discover new areas of interest, learn new skills, and build new friendships.
Positions Available: Head Counselors and Assistant Head Counselors for campers age 10-13 for our Girl Power! A Camp Program fostering Confidence, Collaboration and Community. June 11-15, 8:45-4:15.
Salary: $22-25/hour, Head Counselor; $12-15/hr for Assistant Head Counselors, depending on experience.
- Head Counselor applicants must have ample experience teaching and working with students in this age range and be able to offer their expertise when facilitating group discussions. Head Counselors must have an advanced college degree and work experience in a field which is relevant to the Girl Power! Camp Program. Current first aid/CPR certification is requirement.
- Assistant Head Counselors must have leadership skills and experience working with students in this age range. Assistant Head Counselors are either finishing college, or have graduated with a college degree in a subject relevant to the Girl Power! Camp. Current first aid/CPR certification is requirement.
- Camp Counselors work as a strong team dedicated to the campers and the camp program. All camp counselors serve as role models and mentors to a group of up to 45 girls. As Camp Counselors, you represent the camp and camp group to parents, our club partners, and to the community. (Head Counselors are responsible for leading the camp group teams.)
- Your responsibilities will include ensuring the campers’ safety, managing their behavior, helping them to process the information gained through the program, maintaining constructive communication, and making sure that campers are actively engaged in a positive, inclusive camp experience.
- Camp Counselors work with our Camp partners to thread through all information and projects into a cohesive learning experience. Projects should enable campers to create and discover new areas of interest, provide insight, allow participants to share knowledge, and develop new skills and talents. Teach what you love!
- Camp Counselors participate in camp activities such as camp workshops, service learning projects, off campus trips, recreation, visual and media arts. Camp Counselors implement the practice of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
Positions Available: Subject- Specific Camp Instructors teaching campers age 4.5-9. (1) Performing Arts Instructor; (1) Science or Design Instructor;(1) Music/Rhythm/Movement Instructor; (1) Yoga Instructor
Salary : $40-$50/Hour
- Choice of Monday or Wednesday, 10:00am to 1:00pm; four classes at 45 minutes each. Campers are grouped by age.
- Instructors plan, organize, and teach their activity on a weekly basis. You will develop your own age-appropriate curriculum and teach what you love!
- Our camp counselors will assist with classroom management.
- Applicants must have ample teaching experience with this age range and be able to tailor each class to be age-appropriate. Your resume should highlight all work with this age group.
Position available: Day Camp Health Director (Camp Nurse)
Hours & Salary: $25-$31/hr based on 7.5 hour day (8:45am to 4:15pm);
Rate based on license.
Skills Required :
- Must be a nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant, registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, physician, or emergency medical technician licensed to operate in the state of New York;
- Must possess current CPR and First Aid Responder certifications
Responsibilities:
- Daily walking inspections and visits of camp groups and camp premises checking for wellness, safety, and cleanliness.
- Maintain camper and staff health records in a confidential and professional manner.
- Maintain prescription and over-the-counter medications in a safe manner.
- Dispense medications as prescribed or as necessary.
- Maintain proper records of treatment and medication; complete incident reports, as well as any required insurance reports.
- Communicate with parents about campers’ medical conditions, as needed and health care providers as necessary.
- Handle all illnesses and injuries on the site and provide consultation to staff handling illnesses and injuries off-site.
- Communicate with the local Health Department any reportable illnesses or injuries.
- Maintain and assist with response plans and procedures for medical emergencies and preventative health related issues.
- Maintain adequate supplies and first aid kits in the Health Office and other camp related locations.
- Our Day Camp Health Director is welcome – but not required – to join our campers and camp counselors in their daily activities.
- Follow camp guidelines as outlined during staff orientation and per the Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene.
