Camp Policies
Admission: Our camp programs welcome students from any school and of any race, religion, and national or ethnic origin. There are maximum group sizes for each camp program. Some weeks and groups may fill up more quickly than others. We encourage you to enroll early. All required forms must be completed and returned to Rory Hertzfeld-Hearse, Director of Auxiliary Programs for a camper to fully enroll in camp and before a camper may attend camp (i.e. Camp Health Examination Form).
Tuition and Fees: New registrations require an additional $25 late registration fee (Pre-camp registration ended April 30, 2012). All new registrations must also include a $25 camp T-shirt fee. If you use the Early Bird and/or the Extended Day coverage programs, program costs are due at time of registration, or if used on an “as needed” basis, a cash or check payment is due at time of service. If available, campers who have enrolled in camp 2012 may add weeks and days to their schedule without incurring additional late registration fees. The camp T-shirt must be brought back to camp for use by the camper during trips and playground excursions.
Communication: Camp communication comes in many forms: email, camp bulletin boards, Counselor memos, and the Blog portion of this website. We ask that our camp families stay informed by reading the materials we post and send. Please make sure that the contact phone numbers and email address you submit to camp are current and checked frequently. If you receive a phone call or an email, please take the time to respond.
Procedures and Standards of Behavior: It is expected that every camper, by joining the Summer Clubhouse community, follow the polices, procedures and standards of behavior, and strive toward consideration of others in thought and action. Summer Clubhouse/Girl Power! campers are required to follow their camp group rules and uphold the appropriate standards of behavior as detailed.
* Use appropriate language, dress conservatively, and show courtesy and respect to all with whom you come in contact;
* Observe procedures for use of The Hewitt School facilities, off-site facilities; equipment, and buses;
* Eat food and drink beverages only in authorized places;
* Be responsible for your own property and have respect for the property of others;
* Be respectful and honest.
Summer Clubhouse reserves the right to dismiss any camper who neglects our standards of behavior, whose attitude is contrary to the spirit of our summer camp programs, whose conduct is considered disrespectful to camp staff and/or campers, or whose conduct is considered harmful to himself/herself or to the facilities we use.
Transportation: Summer Clubhouse and Girl Power! use hired buses to transport our campers. Campers are expected to follow safety rules in regards to camp transport.
Cancellations and Refunds: Summer Clubhouse is not responsible for providing make up days or issuing refunds or credits for camp days missed as a result of scheduling conflicts, illness, emergencies, or other events beyond our control. The 50% camp deposit ( accepted prior to April 30,2012) is nonrefundable and nontransferable. If camp tuition has been paid in full, a refund for the remaining portion of fees may be requested prior to April 30, 2012. If paid in full, a refund of 25% of camp tuition may be requested by June 1, 2012. Such requests must be submitted in writing by email, mail or fax and delivered to the attention of Rory Hertzfeld-Hearse, Director of Auxiliary Programs. Under no circumstances will refunds or credits be issued after June 1, 2012.
